Baby Porter meets his namesake Porter Wilson in the hospital, one of Craig's closest childhood friends. We managed to keep the name a secret (remarkable for me, although Craig is one of the best secret-keepers I have ever known) from everyone, and so it was fun to tell after he was born. Many people gave us some great suggestions, but in the end we favored Porter (for Porter W, baggage handlers and beer) and Blackford (from Bill Buckley's novels, and even I needed Craig to explain). So far he is still "new baby" or "little Po" to the kids. Grayson absolutely loves him and is constantly patting him on the head, much to my mom's continuing horror. Grayson is definitely less than gentle, but he's getting the hang of it. The big sisters of course love holding him and watching him sleep. Let's just hope he keeps sleeping so well!
