I'm back in the saddle again

Martha is back to riding as we have found her a good riding school here in Austin. Ok, so it's not in Austin but way out in Bee Cave, about a 35-minute drive without traffic. It is totally worth it though, as the instructor/stable owner is very patient, supportive and laid back! Just what the "full speed ahead" equestrienne needs. She had a great first lesson and learned some new terms. (For instance, her Austrian and Polish riding coaches taught her a "rising" trot, in American English it is "posting." Also "cavalettes" was a new term, as she knew those poles on the ground as just that, "poles.") You can see that her horse was a tall one from her short little legs, but she was very brave and soon began showing that great big horse who was in charge. That's my girl!
